Summer fields are briming over with those juicy blackberries, just waiting to be plucked up by you and tucked deep inside those dumplings, cobblers or pies.
My granddaughter was out picking some this morning with her friend. It's tough work though. You have to wade through the briars, bees and all those prickly thorns. But oh the reward, waiting back home in the kitchen. Well, after you make them of course:)
Look at this pan full I served our family on July 4th. They were simply delicious. I must admit though, I cheated. I chose the EASY way and used canned blackberries. And it didn't bother me a bit.
For step by step instructions and pictures on how to make MY DUMPLINGS, please visit my blog at. www.desperatediva.typepad.com Enjoy....Oh by the way, you can use any fruit that you like. Peaches.....Apples...etc. It's the same method. Give it a try.
